Great for our Maine Coons
UPDATE: 3/20/25 - our Bravmini is still going strong. I use it often to get little tangles that I can't easily get out with a comb (don't want to hurt my Coons with tugging). Sometimes I have to buzz a bigger area where mats got bigger and it cuts right through them easily and quickly. You have to cut the hair at the right angle for the clipper to work so if it doesn't seem to be cutting for you, try from another direction. The main thing with this one for me is that it's nice and small and it's not very noisy. My Maine Coons don't mind it one bit. They'll lay there and let me clip away. I find that the charge really lasts. I can't say exactly how long but I rarely need to charge it. I have no complaints about the battery life. Funny thing, my husband took it last night to shave his neck and he really liked it! So I'm here to order another one for him (more sanitary if he has his own). He has had various electric razors for men, most are rotary I think, and never was impressed with any of them. But he likes the animal one! Haha! Seriously, this has been a great clipper for our cats. Maine Coons IMO are higher maintenance as far as grooming and clipping and this small, lightweight clipper makes that work much faster and easier for me. I keep it out on the bathroom counter all the time so that I can pick it up and use it in an instant. For me, this was a worthwhile purchase. ********************************************************************************************* ORIGINAL REVIEW: We have an Andis from years ago (I don't know how it rates with other Andis models) and a Wahl clipper for people. We have two Maine Coons and even when I groom them regularly they can get mats in their fur. If I let more time go by a mat can really get stubborn. In that case, I just want to cut it out instead of trying to comb it. It's faster and it's gentler on the cat. Our Andis wasn't cutting well (maybe need to replace blades) so I tired using the Wahl and it was much better than the Andis had ever been so I've been using it on the Coons however, it's pretty loud and when the Coons see my get it out, they run! I started looking at the Wahls for animals and decided on this one, the WAHL Professional Animal Bravmini+. I wanted another model but didn't want to spend that much and was concerned that I'd be disappointed with my choice. Nope, I'm not! The Bravmini+ arrived today and right out of the box it was ready to roll. I set up the charging station and then showed the clipper to one of the Maine Coons. He gave it a good sniffing, then I turned it on. Not much of a reaction from him. I'm guessing that is because it's not real loud but also, I think the cord on the other ones was a big deal to them. Also, the size of this mini isn't intimidating. So, I held my boy gently, showed him the clipper, turned it on and removed a couple mats from his hip. He just laid there. I got another one near his front leg and then adjusted him so that I could lift his head back and zipped off a couple knots on his neck. That is one area where they both get bad mats, there and in their long manes. It was so fast and easy using this mini and when I was done the Coon didn't run away, he just sat up and looked at me. I really think this is a great little clipper to use with our Maine Coons, and I think it will work for sanitary trims too. It's not real loud, sharp, feels good in the hand, and it's cordless. All big pluses. I feel like this was money well spent. And I like the berry/purple color but of course that doesn't matter to the functionality. I can't speak yet to the battery life because just arrived but I used it right out of the box and didn't have a power problem. Now it's on the dock getting a full charge so that I can introduce the bigger of our two Coons to it. If you're considering this model, you should give it a try. You can always return it but I think that unless it isn't suited to your needs you'll really like using it.

Awesome!
This little thing is great! It's easy to use, even for those of us who are not professional groomers. It's not super loud, easy to handle, easy to grip. My only minor complaint is that you have to use the base to charge it. It would have been great if you could charge it by just connecting it to a charging cable without a base. A base is convenient if you have a dedicated space/area just for grooming, but I dont have that kind of space in the condo. I keep this trimmer and all its accessories in the box and just pull it out as needed. So for people like me, charging it like you would a cellphone (no base) would be easier. But thats just a minor thing. The trimmer itself works great, battery life seems pretty good so far. I've used it 3 times now just for my shih tzu's paws, belly, and sanitary area but havent needed to charge it yet. So far, so good!

Stopped cutting hair after ONE use!
I bought these trimmers last summer. I used them once right after purchasing, and they worked great! The second time I went to use them they didn't cut my dog's paw hair at all. And I mean not one single hair was cut. I looked up how to disassemble and clean the blades, and thought it would work again. I got through half a paw before the blades stopped cutting the hair. It was too late to return them since it had been a few months since I bought them. I forgot about them in my drawer for a while until I decided to check the warranty. I ended up sending them in for warranty repair. After I received them back from Wahl they worked great....for 1 trimming only again. By the second trimming they stopped working. I sent them in for repair a few weeks ago and am waiting to get them back. At this point I think my warranty has run out, and I've gotten 2-3 total trims out of the $100 pair of clippers. I'm extremely disappointed in this clipper set, especially since we have other Wahl products and LOVE them. I'm hoping I can just ask for a refund at this point.

Great for detail and shapes.
Great tiny clipper for cutting in shapes or in sanitary areas. Smaller version of the arco adjustable one. Update: July 04 2018, Still enjoying my tiny trimmer. Harder to find the replacement blades than the regulator sized trimmer. Careful with the professional blade. It’s super close and sharp!! Some complain that you cannot sharpen these blades and act like it’s some horrible secret when they tell you. In my opinion, for 20-30$ I’d rather replace those old funky blades (recycle that metal!) than have to go to the trouble of having the teeth ground down, wondering if they did a good enough job and if I’m going to have tiny shards in my trimmer. It’s just a hassle. This thing NEVER seems to get warm. A little white grease on the connection, oil on the teeth and it’ll go like it was made by Playschool! Great system by Wahl! Pop off, put another on and your good to go when you need a different size. I’m pretty happy with them and find them more comfortable for my hand, the dog and my legs when I’ve tried them on myself before my sensitive white poodle’s skin. (Of course!!) I highly recommend this system!

Quality clipper recommended by my Pro. Groomer friend
An excellent clipper for trimming the dogs face, feet ears. Lightweight and comfortable to hold. This is a replacement buy for the previous one which lasted 10 years.

Great clipper, doesn't seem made to last
love this clipper. It's small, lightweight, rechargable (no cords), and not too loud. Perfect for clipping the fur on faces, around feet, hygeinic areas. However, I've had 3 now, and they tend to only last about a year or two!

worth the purchase price!!!
quiet, efficient and seems to be just what I needed to do the small amount of trimming on my smooth coat dog. I have very minimal trimming to groom my smooth coat dog for the ring. He fights me if I try to use a noisy clipper or one that is not sharp enough to trim without pulling his hair. I have no issues with noise or heat with this one. I was replacing a palm sized trimmer at $15 each time and I had a lot of difficulty with my dog cooperating, They made a lot of noise and got very warm. After replacing it several times, I looked at this BravMini. The price is great and I could easily see the value when it cost me $15 for each of the old ones. I love the fact that this is rechargeable, and if I need a replacement blade, it is just $25(priced it at a dog show this past weekend) recommend this one, it is so much better than the AA powered conairs.

Terrible blade quality
After using a cheaper generic version of this clipper I was excited to upgrade. Completely disappointed. They will barely cut. The blade has to be extremely cleaned and oiled or it jams and stops cutting. Since I only pull this mini clippers out for super tight mats behind ears on scared dogs, matted armpits on tiny elderly thin skinned dogs, and mostly for scoping intense eye gunk that's so bad it was won't come off in the bath. This clipper will not cut it for eye gunk. A tiny bit of moisture or build up will render the blade useless. Can't even make it half way through one eye before needing to clean blade. Even my cheap $30 throw away mini clipper easily handled these jobs. Which is a bummer. And I don't feel good about forking out another $30 for a new replacement blade just incase my blade is defective out of the box. Especially since I have found other reviews online with the same issue. These are worthless for a professional grooming stand point.
