In this propulsive, “nonstop read” ( USA TODAY ) from the New York Times bestselling author of The Shape of Night , a NASA doctor is in a deadly race against time to destroy a lethal microbe as it multiplies in the International Space Station. Dr. Emma Watson’s lifelong dream of working and studying aboard the International Space Station has finally come true. But it quickly becomes a nightmare when a culture of single-celled organisms begins to regenerate out of control—and infects the crew. Emma must contain the outbreak and prevent as many deaths as possible while, back on Earth, her estranged husband is frantically working with NASA to bring her home. But with a contagion threatening all of humanity, there will be no rescue. “Thrilling…fast-paced, scary, and loaded with insider information” ( The Plain Dealer, Cleveland), Gravity is an unputdownable thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final page. Review: fast paced, great read - I read this book when it came out. I just read it again, and it was a lot of fun. I hardly remembered it, so it was like the first time. Review: Great product so glad I purchased it - This author has many ideas for a book. So when I read this one it shows where so much research had to be done to write this book. While it was interesting it leaves one just wondering how and why some rules must be broken.

Really enjoyable
My first Tess Gerritsen book. Don’t know what to expect, and actually (stupid me), thought it was the basis for the movie “Gravity”, which I enjoyed immensely (and still do.) Well, it wasn’t, but that didn’t matter. I really enjoyed this. Great writing, good plot pacing, and sufficiently grounded in science to balance between being believable while not being overly sci-fi nerdy. The cast of characters is large, but most have some inner voices. Which gave it depth and credibility and low the interest level up. There weren’t black-and-white heroes or villains. And glad to have found this and will look for her other books.

Suspense at it’s best
Could not put this book down. Would make a great movie. I had a very quesey feeling picking up the Tide Pods while doing the laundry. Their consistency and blue/green color appear very much like the “Chimera” embryo. I’ll be thinking about this novel for a long time.

Virus. In. Spaaaaaaaace (remember “Pigs in Space” from “The Muppet Show”? Like that.)
Astronaut/physician Emma Watson (this was an odd choice. I couldn’t find a publication date on this copy, but she’s been a famous actress for quite some time. You wouldn’t name a character “Julia Roberts” unless you were going for a meta-type “but not THAT one” throughout. But I digress.) and her crew are set to go to the International Space Station when a tragedy at home means Watson must go early to substitute for an astronaut who may come home. Watson is also in the process of finalizing her divorce from former astronaut/physician Jim MacCallum, who never actually got to go into space. Watson hasn’t been at ISS long when one of the crew members stationed there becomes gravely ill. What’s wrong with him? Does it have anything to do with the experiments the crew is performing on board? And what should be done? You can tell the author did a lot of homework in writing this and the passage on space flight and life on the ISS are very good (I mean, I would know, having read Mary Roach’s book and all.) Interesting enough tale as long as you’re willing to suspend some disbelief (um, hi. MacCallum doesn’t actually work for NASA anymore. Thanks.) I appreciated the federal government’s efforts to avoid a global pandemic and wish our current President would consider doing the same (oh, yeah. Had to be said.) Good, quick quarantine read. First one
This was the first Tess Gerritsen that I have read and it definitely will not be the last. Keep me turning the page and doing the 'I will just read the next chapter' thing all the way through. Well paced and great charters. Keep you guessing.

Terrific stuff
Read a few Tess Gerritsen novels now and am hugely impressed. This one, in particular, was gripping, superbly researched and well written. It's an easy read, well paced and believeable. The other novels by Tess that I'd read were serial killer thrillers, equally good, but I was still unsure whether this book, in a slightly different genre, would work so well. I needn't have worried, she pulls it off excellently and I'd put this in the top ten thrillers I've read. It's a straightforward thriller, not overly wordy or arty, just a great page-turner, and that's exactly what I want.
