I'm a senior golfer with a awing speed of 85 mph, would this ball be good for me? i'm told a prov type ball will not suit my swing speed.

I think it would work fine for that swing speed. As always feel off the club face is subjective but I think you will find it has a soft feel. I have SS around 100-105 with driver and prefer pro plus after testing both balls.

Is this a newer model of golf ball from the Vice Pro Soft in the grey box?

Ordered Lime Vice Pro Soft ball 3 times over last few months. It is the newer shiny ball, not the previous model with a matte finish. It does come in a gray box.
