The Dogist Puppies , the follow-up to the New York Times bestseller The Dogist , is a beautiful, funny, and endearing look at puppies. “800 puppies in ... 300 pages of cuteness.” — The Los Angeles Times He fires up the Nikon. Fills his pockets with treats. Dresses in special gear—pants with built-in kneepads and shoes that are not only made for walking but also have a thick rubber toe for squatting. And last but not least, he packs a squeaky tennis ball. And then The Dogist is off, combing the streets in his quest to find dogs to photograph. Or, as has been the case for the past four years, puppies. Bringing his singular eye and sensibility to photographing puppies from birth to age one, Elias Weiss Friedman, aka The Dogist, captures hundreds of fuzzy faces to love and little furry bodies to covet. The Dogist Puppies is a celebration of oversize puppy paws and floppy puppy ears, puppies getting belly rubs and puppies unsure, exactly, of what that tail thing is for. Puppies at play, and puppies worn out from playing. Litters of puppies with their mom, and puppies with their human equivalents—children. Puppies in fancy outfits, and those poignant puppies having to wear the “cone of shame.” Friedman has also taken a deep dive into breeds: Border Collies and Westies, Frenchies and Huskies, Boxers and the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, whose tender gaze looks just a little worried—perhaps concerned about living up to that name. The Dogist’s new focus is on puppies. What more do you need to know? Named a Best Gift Book by People and InStyle

A Perfect Book to Cheer Up Anyone in 2020
I bought this for one reason and that was to cheer up a friend. My friend was having a terribly bad day during a terribly bad year, and she also happened to like puppies. This did the job in spades. My friend’s bad day didn't change but she was able to deal with it better. There's a little written about each one. so, you might learn something about particular breeds. While this is more of a coffee table book than a field guide, it's worth every penny. It's clear the photographer is a pro, and not just filling the pages. These are great, lively, happy puppy pictures. And really, in the year 2020, we need a little more of that, don't we?I fully recommend “The Dogist Puppies” by Elias Weiss Friedman.Anthony Trendlanthonytrendl.com

Beautiful Book
Beautiful, large pictures of puppies. I bought it for my mother with dementia. She loves flipping through, commenting, and laughing at the puppies.

Best dog photography
This is a great book of great dog pictures taken on the street as the photographer encounters with the dog and it’s guardian. Bought it as a gift but borrowed it back later so I could also enjoy.

Adorable Book!
We run an after school program and are always on the look out for engaging books that are consumable in one sitting - there is not always an option to read the same book you had yesterday. This book has been a HIT! Our kids love photo books in general, they feel more mature than picture books but don't have the pressure of a chapter book. This has been well loved 2nd-5th grade, and is great for a group read.
