Actually does remind me of the Pop-Tarts that I ate as a kid. Being gluten free there are a lot of things that are specialty and very difficult to find. Pop-Tarts were always a sweet treat and finding these was nice. The price is a little on the expensive side but if you treated as a treat it's not that bad. The pastry is a little bit dry however I remember Pop-Tarts being that way. The chocolate flavor is really good and definitely hits the spot when that's what you're craving.

These taste great and are fantastic for lactose intolerance! I'm not sensitive to gluten and don'ttypically look for gluten free products, but I appreciate the thought put into these. They are a bit dry at rom temp, but warming* them up a bit melts the filling enough to be slightly gooey. They're a decent size—about the size of a PopTart. Cons for my order: All of the pastries in each box had only have the pastry iced. I imagine this may have been a storage issue, as they were fully iced bought from a local store. The quality control of these may be a bit off, thouh, as one of my boxes only came with three pastries. When reaching out to Katz via email, they politely advised to reach out through the Amazon platform (per Amazon policy), so if you need customer service, reach out directly through Amazon or Amazon support. *not in a standard upright toaster as the icing will melt to the metal; heat in toaster oven or microwave

I don't like the icing on these so I scrape it off. Other than that they are good.

For a gluten free poptart I thought these were great. Eat with or without toasting but toasting taste even better.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I’m on a search for gluten-free snacks, cookies, cakes, breads that I like. I recently found out that gluten is partly responsible for some stomach issues I’ve been experiencing. At 70 years old— I’m too grouchy without my snacks! In my search, I’ve tried several gluten-free products from Katz. (The Katz mini glazed donuts are AMAZING! I recommend.) These brown sugar cinnamon toaster pastries looked promising, but I’m disappointed. Maybe I expected too much from Mrs. Katz. They taste a bit bland. Not really like cardboard, but not yummy either. The cookie part.. or crust, whatever, is thick, much thicker than the regular toaster pastries in the stores. They come individually wrapped in foil bags. At first, I thought there were two pastries in the bag because it was about as thick as those pack of two Pop Tarts that are sold in travel stop markets. But there was only one toaster pastry in Mrs. Katz’s foil bag. I wouldn’t say the Katz pastries are “bad.” They aren’t. But they aren’t really reminiscent of Pop Tarts either. The thicker crust is … a bit doughy … while not tasting like real dough. I heated it in the toaster and made a powdered sugar glaze to spread on it and it was not bad. Tolerable, I guess I’d call them. I tasted more of the glaze than I did the pastry. The filling is thinly spread in the pastry. I really couldn’t taste the filling. These pastries aren’t sweet at all without my added glaze. I’ll be okay with these if I heat and glaze them, but I won’t buy more.

It is great to have a gluten free poptart!

I was wishing for a softer Pop-Tart when I found these and ordered some to try. On arrival I was at first concerned items are a little smaller and only one for foil pack. But they're not meant to be Pop-Tarts exactly. And I like them. It only takes 15 or so seconds in the microwave to warm one and even the crust remains soft. They're tasty with enough frosting but the application of it is apparently done by machine which is not always on Center. So some tarts are fully covered with a swath while others have a half and still others got one half of two swaths to make one coverage. It's not a fatal issue and I'm still buying them for the ease, the texture and flavor. I would however prefer it if the frosting coverage was evenly applied. The smaller tarts are just expensive enough to make that a reasonable request.
