As far as pencils go, I think I'll buy these from now on. I got them for my hubs with Parkinson's, but I enjoy them as well. Easier to grip ~ lead writes smoothly and dark. Good quality.

Great for little hands
My daughter (3) was having trouble controlling a normal size pencil. I opted to give these a try and they have worked very well for us. They have helped her develop a proper grip on her pencil and to become more confident in her letter formation. She feels like a big kid using a real pencil to do her "school" work every day. I do wish these were a bit shorter. Especially for the age they are marketed for - an inch shorter would make them balance in the hand a lot easier, but I suppose with time they will become an inch shorter as we sharpen and use them. Finding a sharpener once we had dulled the point was a little challenge, but I had a 2 sized sharpener stashed in a drawer. You might want to make sure you have a larger sharpener handy if you plan to use these regularly!

Great for carpentry
These are easier to handle than the regular flat carpenters' pencils. I think they are easier to hold and the lead holds up as well as the flat lead pencil
